Bob has been involved in the entertainment and hospitality sector throughout his adult life. A former DJ and radio presenter, Bob was well known in the licensed trade for over 30 years.
Following formal training at the Ivor Spencer School for Toastmasters, Bob has regularly acted as Toastmaster and Master of Ceremonies during the past 8 years. Whilst the majority of his work has been at weddings, Bob is one of the leading and most knowledgeable Toastmasters on Civic Events. He has also worked at royal events, Burns Night Suppers, Masonic Ladies Festivals and Company and Society Dinners.
Bob lives on the Hertfordshire / Essex border and has worked at all the local Hotel and Function rooms including Hanbury Manor, Fanhams Hall, Briggens House, Pearce House, Down Hall, Bury Lodge, Stansted Hilton, Churchgate, Cheshunt Marriott, Hatfield House and the Manor of Groves, where he is the recommended Toastmaster. Further afield Bob has worked at the House of Lords, Brocket Hall, Claridges and The Berkeley Hotel in London and a number of other venues including the Fennes Estate, Quendon Hall, Reed Rooms and many golf club's function rooms.
He is well placed to give help and advice on all these venues, both in choosing the most appropriate one for your function and in highlighting any issues you should discuss with the hotel's function managers. Although Bob has a huge amount of local knowledge he does travel throughout the country and is willing to travel anywhere.
Bob was elected Toastmaster of the Year in 2006 has been Chairman of the Guild of International Professional Toastmasters since 2005.
Except when protocol calls for a more formal atmosphere, Bob believes in conducting his functions in an informal and relaxed manner. At weddings, he never forgets that this is the bride's most important day of her life and whilst giving advice, will work tirelessly to ensure that she enjoys the day in the way she wants it to run.
