Training School Testimonials of the Guild of International Professional Toastmasters

So you want to be a Toastmaster? The prospect looks very easy from the outside, but so do many things until you scratch the surface. I had thirty years police service and ten years as an MC and DJ behind me when I took part on the Guild of International Professional Toastmasters course. Then I realised how much I didn't know.

Bob and Phil, who gave instruction on the course are both most experienced toastmasters in their own right and happily passed on their expertise to us students. Yes there was pressure, but this was self-imposed and there was such a lot to learn. Notes were provided and of great help in revision for the daily examinations.

There were many practice lessons where one had to perform toastmaster's duties. The time on the course seemed to fly by, but on reflection and in the following weeks, I came to realise just how invaluable the course was to me and how much I had learned.

After the course comes the oral examination and interview. More pressure! All I can say is that when one gains the privilege of becoming a Fellow of the Guild of International Professional Toastmasters and wearing the prestigious badge you will really feel that you have become someone and that future clients will be pleased that they have hired you in that red coat. A credit to the profession.

I made enquiries and did a lot of research before I applied to take part on the course and join the Guild. I am so glad that I did.

Many thanks to Bob and Phil.

The Training School run by the Guild of International Professional Toastmasters was an excellent foundation for what I hope will be a long and enjoyable career in this profession. The knowledge and experience of the tutors was massive and their willingness and patience to guide us, hone our skills, and enthuse us was inspirational. I am confident that anyone considering becoming a Toastmaster could not have a better introduction and grounding in the profession. The cost is very good value for money and represents a very worthwhile investment. Becoming a Fellow of the Guild has given me great pride and confidence to represent what, I believe, is the best Guild in the business.
